The last two performances of the First OCT-LOFT Jazz Festival will be given Oct. 13 and 15 respectively.
The festival has seen the participation of about 100 musicians from 21 bands, coming from 16 countries and regions including the United States, the Netherlands, Denmark, Switzerland, France, Britain, Germany, Norway, Canada, Australia and Malaysia.

Oct. 13
Jazz quintet led by Eddie Gomez

Eddie Gomez, a legendary bassist from the United States, will lead a jazz quintet to perform at the First OCT-LOFT Jazz Festival.
Besides Gomez, the quintet includes guitarist Teriver Cheung from Hong Kong, trumpeter Li Xiaochuan from the Chinese mainland, pianist Stefan Karlsson and drummer Billy Drummond from the United States.
Gomez has been on the cutting edge of music for over four decades. He has performed with jazz giants such as Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Bill Evans, Gerry Mulligan and Benny Goodman. Gomez’s unique sound and style can be heard on hundreds of recordings spanning the worlds of jazz, classical, Latin jazz, rhythm and blues, popular and contemporary music.
Joining the Bill Evans trio was a turning point in Gomez’s career. Evans was one of the most influential pianists in jazz history. After that, the jazz community began to take notice of him.
For 11 years, Gomez played an integral role in the Bill Evans trio’s sound and evolution. This period of rapid artistic growth with the Bill Evans trio included performances throughout the United States, Europe, South America and Asia, as well as dozens of recordings, two of which won Grammy Awards.

Cedric Hanriot ‘French
Stories’trio

Born in France, Cedric Hanriot is generally considered a latecomer to the world of music. After he earned his master’s degree in electronics and digital audio processing at the age of 21, his life took an unexpected turn as he sat at a piano for the first time. Within a few years, he has become a Fulbright recipient, pianist, composer, producer and arranger.
Hanriot later moved to the United States, where he worked closely with American musicians and experienced a variety of styles, genres and different techniques. He initiated the project “French Stories” which performs famous French songs in a contemporary style.
In addition to his own projects, Hanriot has collaborated with many other leading artists on piano, B3 Hammond Organ, keys, melodica and accordion. He has also composed, arranged and done sound engineering for an array of musical styles and capacities.
He has performed and recorded with luminaries such as drummer Terri Lyne Carrington, bass player John Patitucci, bass player and singer Meshell Ndegeocello, drummer Cindy Blackman, saxophonist Joe Lovano and Grammy Awards winning singer DeeDee Bridgewater.
Hanriot has appeared at many prestigious performance venues worldwide including the Iridium New York (U.S.A.), the Vancouver International Jazz Festival (Canada), the Tanglewood International Jazz Festival (U.S.A.) and the Universal Exposition 2010 (Shanghai, China).
