上低音萨克斯、贝司和鼓，按理说是典型的爵士三重奏配置，而Zu那生猛又富有侵略性的音乐风格，却和极端金属有非常多共通之处，因而被AllMusic网站评价为“公然反抗简单的音乐分类”。他们的作品实验性地糅合了金属乐、数学摇滚、无浪潮、噪音和电子乐，著名音乐家John Zorn给予其很高的评价——“一种强劲且极具表现力的音乐，足以碾压现今绝大多数乐队的作品”。

While their line-up of baritone sax, bass guitar and drums is typical of a jazz trio, their aggressive and hard-driving music shares much in common with extreme metal for a style that AllMusic says “defies easy categorization.” Their experimental amalgam of metal, math, no-wave, noise and electronics, led acclaimed composer John Zorn to describe their sound as “a powerful and expressive music that totally blows away what most bands do these days”.
For over twenty years, Zu has released over twenty unique albums across labels such as Ipecac, Atavistic and Headz (Japan). In the running for the title of ‘the world’s hardest working band’, ZU have performed over 2000 shows throughout Europe, US, Canada, Asia, Russia, Mexico and even Africa, touring with the likes of Mike Patton (as the Zu/Patton quartet), sharing the stage with Faith No More, Fantomas, The Melvins, Lightning Bolt, Sonic Youth, The Ex, etc..
Zu are also known for collaborating with a wide variety of musicians, and have been described as “masters at adapting to their guests’ musical backgrounds”. They have collaborated with a vast number of musicians including Mike Patton, The Melvins, Dälek, Jim O’ Rourke, FM Einheit (Einsturzende Neubauten), Peter Brötzmann, Eugene S. Jooklo二重奏是一支来自意大利罗马的自由爵士二重奏。自2004年起，他们就不断对外发出独特而充满能量的声音，以数百场震撼人心的演出与风格诡谲的专辑惊艳了乐迷。他们的音乐深深扎根于前卫和自由爵士，也深受到传统民谣的影响，同时对极致的声音实验敞开怀抱。Jooklo二重奏一直有意识、有计划地尝试由“传统”的二重奏走向更多的维度，加入迷幻、民族的元素和低沉嗡鸣的氛围（例如他们的延伸组合Neokarma Jooklo三重奏、Golden Jooklo Age等），或是创造彻底狂野且抽象的自由音乐（例如他们最近与吉他手Bill Nace组成的三重奏）。

Jooklo Duo is a free jazz duo from Rome, Italy. Blowing minds all over the world since 2004 with hundreds of charming performances and some cult records, Jooklo Duo keeps spreading their powerful and uniquely vibrant sound, deeply rooted in free jazz avant-garde but heavily influenced by traditional folk music, and at the same time open to extreme sound experiments. And they have been moving consciously and organically from their “classic” duo roots, to more psychedelic, ethnic and droney atmospheres (like in their expanded groups Neokarma Jooklo Trio, Golden Jooklo Age, etc.) and to totally wild and abstract free music (such as their recent trio work with guitarist Bill Nace).
Over the years the perpetual research for new and challenging combinations has led Jooklo Duo to form a large variety of ensembles and to collaborate with artists as Sonic Youth, Sabu Toyozumi, Chris Corsano, Paul Flaherty, Daniel Carter and many others. In October 2010, they performed “Nearly Ninety” at the Barbican Centre in London with the Merce Cunningham Dance Company, along with Takehisa Kosugi (Taj Mahal Travellers) and John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin).
