New York based guitarist and composer Dave Allen has been praised by critics as “an exciting and unique player in the mold of Pat Metheny, Ben Monder and Adam Rogers with fantastic technique, strong melodic sense, great compositions, and an exceptional team of musicians”. At the age of 16, Allen was recognized by Guitar Player Magazine as a talent to watch. He has released two critically acclaimed recordings, “Untold Stories” and “Real and Imagined” on the Fresh Sound label, which feature original compositions and a well-crafted group sound. He is known as a player and composer who writes challenging, forward-thinking music for groups that include some of the best musicians on the modern Jazz scene. Allen has performed or recorded with Mark Turner, Ravi Coltrane, Seamus Blake, David Liebman, Jeff Ballard, Donny McCaslin, Drew Gress, Nasheet Waits, Tom Rainey, Tony Malaby, Jaleel Shaw, Clarence Penn and many others. He has toured with his own groups throughout the U.S. and Europe.
Brian Hurley
Brian Hurley is a Canadian jazz bassist and composer, based in Montreal. For many years an important presence in Montreal, New York, and Shanghai–the guitarist Sonny Greenwich has called him “one of Canada’s premier bassists”, and Handel Lee, founder of Three on the Bund (Shanghai) called him “the best bassist in Asia”– he has performed and recorded with Joe Lovano, Ben Monder, Don Thompson, Ed Bickert, Sonny Greenwich, Peter Leitch, Terry Clarke, Sadik Hakim, Conrad Herwig, Pete Bernstein, Roberta Gambarini, Joe Sullivan, Yannick Rieu, Claude Ranger, Bernie Senensky, Remi Bolduc, Kong Hong Wei (“Golden Buddah”), Cindy Blackman, Wallace Roney, Xiao Ke, Wray Downes, Pete Yellin, and many others; and has appeared in nightclubs such as House of Jazz, L’Air du Temps, Modavie, Diese Onze (Montreal), hotels and restaurants such as Ritz Carlton, Omni, Holiday Inn Crown Plaza, Ramada Renaissance and Jazz festivals like Montreal International Jazz Festival,Toronto Downtown Jazz Festival, Ottawa Jazz Festival.

Drummer – born Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
1970 –Studied with Joe Harris, Babe Fabrizi and Roger Humphries. Performed with both the Gene Ludwig and the Danny Fogel organ trios . Father Jack owned Red Raven Jazz club in the Northside of Pittsburgh.
1971-1977 United States Marine Corps Band (President’s Own), attended band school Quantico Virgina,
1978-1980 San Diego – studied with Jim Plank, Tim Shea and Duncan Moore, performed with Hollis Gentry, Butch Lacy, Kevin Lettau, Mark Dresser, Tony “Batman” Ortega, Performed regularly at LA Costa Country Club and Solana Beach Café.
1980-1988 California State University studied privately with Eddie Moore, Vince Lateano, Mike Clark, Gaylord Birch and Richie Goldberg, performed with Joachim Young, Hal Stein, Noel Jewkes, Madeline Eastman, Al Molina. Recorded several albums with Jack Jive, appeared both Concord and Sacramento Jazz Festivals. House drummer at Pier 23 Café. Recorded jingles for Kawasaki, Pacific Bell, and Peanuts/Garfield TV show with Ed Bogus at both Fantasy and Russian Hill recording studios.
1988-1990 – Carnival Cruise Lines/Sea Escape Cruises, Miami Florida, show band drummer.
1991- 2000 – New York City studied with Billy Higgins,Art Taylor, Mike Clark. Performed with Junior Cook, Lee Greene, Sal Bonafede, Larry Ham, Ted Trimble, Ralph & Dave Lalama, Rob Bargad, Peggy Stern, Pete Malinverni, Pat O’Leary,Jed Levy, Jerry Weldon, Bobby Forester, Mary Davis, Debbie Sullivan, Jeff Fuller, Harold Danko, Mike Asetta, Renato Chicco, Ugonna Ukegwo, Bruce Barth, Diana Krall and John Ray at various venues New York Area.
2000-2002 – Pequot Casino Hartford Casino performed nightly with Bill Brown, Debbie Sullivan and Mary Davis trios. Worked variety shows as needed. Performed at the Hartford Jazz Festival. Organized “Music on the Green” series for Fishers Island New York shows such as Peter on the Wolf with full Orchestra, Shawnn Montiero, Samba Do Brasil and Harold Danko trio.
2002-2008 – Now performing in Hong Kong, SAR & Shanghai, China at JZ Club, CJW, Park 97 and Ritz Carlton Hotel. Leader of the “Soul Crusaders” featuring Eddy Goltz, Sean Higgins, Ernesta Dunbar. Also performed with Eric Wyatt, JQ. Whitcomb, Brian Hurley, Victor Noriega, Nicholas Bouloukas, Danny Woody, Sinne, Sonya Hensley, Coco, Alec Haavick, Denise Minninfield, Sugar Mama, Peng Fay and Alice Day.
Hong Kong at Peel Fresco, Gecko, Grappa’s, Vibe, Fringe Club, Backstage with Ted Lo, Eugene Pao, Bob Mocarsky, Paulo Levy, Skip Moy, Charlie Huntley, and Jezrael. Currently touring with the incredible B-3 organist “Bill Heid”.
