成立于2013年的Malstrom是一支来自德国的新锐三重奏。以爵士为基底的自由即兴，又融合了金属、摇滚、鼓打贝斯（Drum ’n’ bass）及电子乐等当代的影响，Malstrom的音乐不仅赢得了众多爵士爱好者的青睐，也惊艳了许多喜爱其它各种音乐风格的乐迷，甚至一些本并不钟情于爵士的听众也被他们吸引。
乐队成员在德国奥斯纳布吕克音乐大学修读爵士乐期间相识，在那里，他们一起进行了大量的练习，并得到了来自不同老师的支持和指导。他们在原创作品的创作上投入了许多心血，并创造出了属于自己的独特声音。他们开始在德国各地的小型俱乐部中为爵士音乐会和各类演出作开场嘉宾，并越来越多地在欧洲音乐节和摇滚场地中露面。
2015年，Malstrom获得了Burghauser欧洲新晋爵士艺术家奖，而后自然地展开了与世界级钢琴家Florian Weber的合作。那次合作促成了他们之后的几场四重奏演出和专辑录制，并于2017年发行了该专辑。此外，他们还摘得了西班牙Getxo国际爵士音乐比赛和德国Biberacher国际爵士音乐比赛的桂冠。迄今为止，乐队已发行了四张专辑。

Malstrom is a young trio from Germany which was formed 2013. The connection between improvisation and a “jazz background” with modern influences from metal, rock, drum ‘n’ bass as wells electronic music creates their specific sounds and makes it possible that a lot of people, who actually are not into jazz music get to know this band and their sound. 
The members met during their jazz-studying at university of music in Osnabrück, Germany, where they practiced a lot together and got support and coaching from different teachers from the university. They spent a lot of time together to work on own compositions and create their own sound. They started to play a lot of opener concerts for jazz-sessions as well as concerts in small clubs all over Germany. More and more they played festivals in Europe and also concerts in rock venues to get in contact with audience not only from jazz but from other genre as well. 
In 2015, they won the Jazz European Young Artists’ Jazz Award Burghausen. Spontaneously they played their concert together with world class pianist Florian Weber. This collaboration was the starting point for a few more concerts as quartet and a CD recording, which was released last year. The trio also won the Gexto International Jazz Competition in Spain and the international Biberacher Jazz-Award in Germany and released four album till now.

电贝斯就像是马木尔的触发器，常常将现场变成一个万花筒一般无法清晰聚焦的魔幻世界：干裂斑驳、层层递进的声音高墙之后，上有星光点点，下有大漠连延。即使偶尔将意识短暂停留在哈萨克草原，也仅仅是海市蜃楼般稍纵即逝的幻象，或“美丽的噪音”，或“暴力的温情”，每一颗音符都同时携带着它们的反对面，投射出一个异样迷人的多棱秘境。
马木尔，音乐人，做过6支乐队：IZ（脚印）、Kunakar（罪人）、51-RAYON（51区）、Mekrop（细菌）、TAT（锈）、Bande（响马）；每个乐队风格不同，主要以氛围、工业、噪音、即兴、实验、厄运嗡鸣（Doom Drone）、黑暗嗡鸣（Dark Drone）等形式呈现，主要乐器为贝斯与吉他。

Mamer uses his electric bass to turn reality into a kaleidoscope – out of focus, fragmented but magical. Behind the wall of the mottled and ever-changing sounds, there is starlight shining upon and desert stretching beneath. Even if your consciousness were brought to Kazakh grasslands for a brief stay, it would be nothing but a mirage. Call it “beautiful noise” or “violent tenderness”, every single note he plays comes out with its own objection, projecting a anomalously captivating world of mystery.
Mamer is a musician who has formed 6 bands: IZ, Kunakar, 51-Rayon, Mekrop, TAT and Bande. The styles of each band vary from ambient, industrial, noise, improvised, experimental to doom drone and dark drone. He mostly plays bass and guitar.
