Stephan Micus（出生于1953.1.19）是德国的音乐家和作曲家。同时他也是一位伟大的创造者和先行者，影响了这个世界上众多的音乐家。
从16岁开始，Stephan Micus就一直周游世界，疯狂学习各种性格各异的民族音乐文化，并且收罗名目繁多的异国乐器 ，在他的音乐世界里，你可以听到由他亲自演奏的各种奇妙的乐器声响，使你置身于非洲雨林，印度神庙或是日本庭院……
除了The Music of Stones（1989）这张专辑外，在他在录音中，几乎弹奏了所有的乐器，每一张专辑，都将不同国家的乐器用全新的方式来表达。他经常用单乐器的面板创作与众不同的声音组合，他也是ECM中唯一一个不需要由Manfred Eicher监制录制专辑的艺人。他还经常会用自创的语言来演唱。

Stephan Micus (born January 19, 1953) is a German musician and composer whose musical style is heavily influenced by his study of traditional instruments and musical techniques from Japan, India, South America, and other countries around the world. With the exception of his album The Music of Stones (1989), he plays all of the instruments on his recordings, combining styles from different countries and using the instruments in unprecedented ways in each of his pieces. He often uses layers of a single instrument to create unusual combinations of sounds. He is also one of the only ECM Records artists whose records are not produced by Manfred Eicher. He often sings in a made-up language.
