弗朗茨·冯·邵西出生于慕尼黑，六岁开始弹钢琴。从他妈妈身上，他开始了解到古典音乐，他来自乌克兰的祖母也鼓励他用手风琴演奏民间音乐。1999年，冯·邵西去到荷兰与罗伯.马纳、卡雷尔.布尔利、罗伯.凡.巴沃一起在阿姆斯特丹音乐学院学习。2003年，他进入纽约曼哈顿音乐学院学习，师从肯尼.巴伦、加里.戴、戴夫.利布曼、约翰.泰勒和肯尼.维尔纳等。在纽约，弗朗茨还跟随爱德华.格林学习电影作曲。弗朗茨以他的名字组成一个三重奏乐队，以其“原创、动感、大师级的演奏”赢得了“200荷兰爵士乐比赛”。弗朗茨在同一赛中以其“微妙、具有空间感和个人的演奏”赢得了“最佳独奏”的奖项。2009年,他赢得了国际蒙特勒爵士钢琴独奏比赛的第二名。

Franz von Chossy

Franz von Chossy was born in Munich, where he started playing the piano as a six-year-old. Through his mother he came to know classical music and his Ukrainian grandmother encouraged him to play folk music on the accordion.  Von Chossy moved to the Netherlands to study at the conservatory of Amsterdam with Rob Madna, Karel Boehlee and Rob van Bavel in 1999. In 2003, he moved to New York to study at the Manhattan School of Music, where he was taught by Kenny Barron, Garry Dial, Dave Liebman, John Taylor and Kenny Werner, among others. In New York Franz also studied film composition with Edward Green. Franz leads a trio under his name with which he won the “Dutch Jazz Competition 2006″ because of his ‘original, dynamic and often virtuoso (inter)play’. Franz won the “Best Soloist” award during the same competition for his ‘subtle, spatial and personal play’. In 2009, he won 2nd prize in the international Montreux Jazz solo Piano Competition. He has released three CDs under his own name (“Awakening” 2006 – Challenge Records , “Pendulum” 2009 – Etcetera Records , “When the World Comes Home” 2012 – Jazzsick Records ) which have been praised by the press. Franz von Chossy has performed throughout Europe and the US as well as in Asia (India, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Turkey, China, Japan and South Korea), Africa (Tunisia, Marocco) and Australia.  Besides leading his own Trio and Quintet he is highly valued for his ensemble-playing in bands like the Pascal Schumacher Quartet, Balkan polis, Africa and Fidan. Every once in a while he also gives concerts on church organ.

I Have a New Band Now 是由来自德国C-大调萨克斯风演奏家Klaus Bru主创的一 支乐队。该乐队汇集了来自比利时的贝斯手Martijn Vanbuel和 意大利鼓手Pietro Valente ，以三人组合形式重新演绎萨克斯风演奏家Klaus Bru的作品。I Have a New Band Now 乐队组建于台湾,三位音乐家都曾在此居住过一段时间。乐队的名字 ‘I Have a New Band Now’即源自于音乐家们，尤其是爵士音乐家常常穿梭于很多 不同乐队间即兴表演的事实。

就该乐队表演的音乐风格而言，很难一言以蔽之。当然，他们的音乐中不乏有爵士 音乐元素，并伴有摇滚风，同时还有有巴尔干音乐，以及特殊格律下演奏的马戏团 曲调，并有加以简单单一的曲调改编的不同民谣，你甚至能够从中追溯到古典音乐的痕迹。三位乐队成员对即兴音乐创作的共同热爱使得多种音乐元素在该乐队的表演 中恰到好处的融为一体，三人组合的表演形式也给音乐表演提供了更大的发挥空 间。I Have a New Band Now 乐队以一种自由和充满刺激的探险的方式共同探索着 这一熟悉却又充满期待的音乐领域。

I Have a New Band Now is a project of C-Melody saxophonist Klaus Bru from Germany. He brings togeth-er Belgian bassist Martijn Vanbuel and Italian drummer Pietro Valente to re-interpret his compositions in a trio format.I Have a New Band Now was founded in Taiwan, where each of the band’s members has been living for some time. The name ‘I Have A New Band Now’ is a tongue-in-cheek reference to the fact that musicians, in particular jazz musicians, usually play in a dozen bands at once.

Stylistically, this trio is not easy to pinpoint: There are elements of jazz, of course, and they are placed alongside rock inspired grooves, but there is also Balkan music, experimental circus tunes in odd meters, and spacious ballads with simple, singable melodies, even influences of classical music can be traced. The band members’ common lust for improvisation merges these diverse elements into one compact sound, and the trio format provides a lot of room between the notes:I Have a New Band Now explores this space in a free and adventurous way, the familiar and the unexpected stand side by side.

In short: The music of I Have a New Band Now is blending the borders between different music styles, it has an electric sound to it, it is fresh, intense, and passionate. Some people like to call it ‘jazz’, butI Have a New Band Now themselves would rather just call it ‘music’.
