Senyawa的音乐是将Rully Shabara（扩展性声音技巧）和Wukir Suryadi（自制乐器）结合的实验性音乐。他们的乐器是由Wukir用长片竹子手工制作而成，是带有吉他拾音器的弦乐装置，可以通过吉他效果器放大与处理声音，有时也能当做声学乐器、打击乐器或弦乐器来表演。
因为身处印度尼西亚的古城日惹，他们的音乐也是将传统的文化爪哇遗产渗透进当代实验音乐的一次实践。 Senyawa尝试冲破传统的界限，希望融合东西方的音乐特色，创造出新的音乐。
作为二重唱组合，他们已经共同拍档至少三年，并在印度尼西亚巡演了几次。在2011年，他们第一次受邀参加墨尔本国际爵士音乐节，并与众多著名音乐家同台演出，包括Faust, Yoshida Tatsuya, Tony Conrad 和 Charlemagne Palestine。
他们还在塔斯马尼亚的MONA FOMA音乐节中演出，也曾在阿德莱德艺术节与韩国歌手Bae Il Dong合作。他们还曾为澳大利亚超级乐团Regurgitator担任巡演特别嘉宾，与日本吉他大师Kazuhisa Uchihashi在奥利地的Noe音乐节与瑞典Malmo Sommarscen音乐节进行演出。Senyawa二重唱还因在奥地利的AIR Krems城市音乐节演出，获得一个月的居留权。
Wukir 曾以独奏者的身份在阿姆斯特丹的STEM音乐工作室工作过一年，Rully Herman也曾担任印度尼西亚著名实验乐队“动物园”的主唱多年。
他们曾与许多知名音乐人合作，如Lucas Abela, Yasuke Akai, Jon Sass, 和Kazu Ushihashi。最近他们刚完成了与法国导演Vincent Moon合作的电影项目。

Senyawa is an experimental music duo made up of Rully Shabara (extended vocal technique) and Wukir Suryadi (homemade instrument). The music that they create is a combination of extended vocal technique and a homemade instrument. The instrument was handcrafted by master instrument builder Wukir out of one long piece of bamboo, it is a string instrument with guitar pick-ups—it is amplified and processed through several effects pedals but at times is played as an acoustic instrument, percussion and string instrument.
They are located in the ancient city of Jogjakarta, Central Java, Indonesia and their music is a reflection of their traditional Javanese heritage filtered through a framework of contemporary experimental music practices. Senyawa try to push the boundaries of both traditions in an attempt to mix the music of the east and the west to create a new sound.
As a duo they have been performing and playing together extensively for the last 3 years and have toured Indonesia several times over. In 2011 they were invited to perform internationally for the first time at the Melbourne International Jazz Festival sharing the stage with many great musicians such as Faust, Yoshida Tatsuya, Tony Conrad and Charlemagne Palestine.
Since then they have performed at MONA FOMA in Tasmania, the Adelaide Festival with Korean singer Bae Il Dong, toured as special guests of Australian supergroup Regurgitator, performed at the Noe Festival Austria along side Japanese guitar master Kazuhisa Uchihashi and Malmo Sommarscen Festival in Sweden. Senyawa was granted a 1 month residency AIR Krems as part of the a city wide Festival in Austria.
Wukir acted as a solo performer finished a residency at STEIM in Amsterdam and Rully Herman was for many years a leading singer of legendary experimental Indonesian band ZOO.
In the past they have collaborated with many notable musicians such as Lucas Abela, Yasuke Akai, Jon Sass, and Kazu Ushihashi. Most recently they completed a film in collaboration with French filmmaker Vincent Moon.
