一噌幸弘
一噌幸弘生于能管世家,师承其父——国宝级的传奇能管演奏家一噌幸政。一噌流的起源可追溯至安土桃山时代(1573-1603),该流派一直活跃至今。
9岁那年,一噌幸弘作为专业的能管演奏家正式出道,年纪轻轻便能演奏《翁》、《道成寺》等经典能乐大曲。作为一名广受赞誉的能管演奏家,他也为笛子家族的多样性而着迷。除能管外,他还演奏日本篠笛、自制田乐笛、竖笛和角笛等,并以之作曲,不断探索日本和西方各种笛类乐器的可能性。
出于广泛多样的兴趣和对音乐的热爱,一噌幸弘也演奏西方经典,尤其是巴洛克音乐、爵士乐和世界音乐。同时,他还拥有不负盛名的即兴能力。他涉足表演艺术的多个不同领域,并和其中的许多顶尖高手有过合作,如村治佳织(吉他),Cecil Taylor(钢琴),Evan Parker(萨克斯),田中泯(舞踏),野村万斋(狂言)和森山开次(当代舞)等。
2011年,由下野龙也指挥,一噌幸弘与读卖日本交响乐团合作演奏了日本作曲家团伊玖磨1985年作品:第六交响曲《广岛》——女高音,能管,篠笛与乐团。该场演出获得了第24届Music Pen Club音乐赏(古典音乐类)大奖。
2012年,一噌幸弘启动了“Let’s Go to Noh Theatre”系列演出,旨在鼓励更多日本听众亲身体验能剧剧场。近期,他现身于英国伦敦的各种音乐现场,如Café OTO、IKLECTIK和哈克尼区的The Victoria(NonClassical系列演出),并以其惊人的即兴技巧和音乐天赋征服了伦敦的听众。2016年5月,他参与策划并出演了由Mu:Arts主办、在伦敦Kings Place举办的的首届Noh Reimagined音乐节,期间与许多英国艺术家进行了极富创新精神的跨文化合作,音乐节大获成功。
一噌幸弘曾两度获得日本文化艺术基金会颁发的“创新传统奖”,曾任国立能乐堂讲师,是日本文化厅认证的“重要无形文化财产综合认定保持者”。
望月太喜之丞
作为歌舞伎戏剧日本传统打击乐大师,望月太喜之丞是最负盛名也最多才多艺的音乐家之一。他曾师从多位打击乐大师,并曾在东京艺术大学研习日本传统音乐。而如今,他活跃于当代音乐领域,与来自不同文化、不同风格流派的演奏家进行合作,并在海外进行了大量的演出。他不懈地探索着日本打击乐的可能性,并以它们创造新的音乐。
小山丰
小山丰是津轻三味线小山流的第三代传人,自幼便师从其祖父、小山流创始人小山贡翁。
作为新生代的日本文化艺术代表人物之一,他多次受日本国际交流基金会之邀赴海外交流演出。演奏传统津轻三味线拥有不负继承人之名实力的他,一直在探索着这种乐器的可能性。他积极地参与到电视、电影、广告、游戏、舞台剧等各个领域,力图向大家呈现津轻三味线的不同姿态,使其焕发出全新的魅力。2003年,他成立了自己的乐队Soothe,他们的音乐汇通东西而不拘泥于形式,融合现代流行元素又不失古典风韵,现场演奏独具一格。
吉见正树
吉见正树自1984年开始演奏塔布拉鼓。在纽约进行了为期两年的各类音乐训练之后,他来到印度孟买向塔布拉大师Ustad Allah Rakha Khan及其子Ustad Zakir Hussain求学。
为了更充分地发挥塔布拉鼓的潜能,他不仅演奏印度传统音乐,也涉足戏剧、音乐剧、时装秀、电视电台广告等多个方面的音乐制作,还参与录制了大量包括电影配乐和音乐专辑在内的录音室作品,与各种风格流派的音乐家、舞蹈家和艺术家进行合作。作为一名即兴能手,他虽然用的是打击乐器,却能呈现如旋律般悦耳的演奏,无论怎样的乐器组合,他都能将塔布拉鼓完美融入。
Yukihiro Isso
Born into a family of nohkan virtuosi, Yukihiro Isso received his initial instruction in nohkan flute playing from his father Yukimasa Isso, a national treasure and a legendary nohkan performer. The origin of the Isso school dates back to the Azuchi Momoyama era (1573-1603) and it has continued down to today without a break.
Yukihiro debuted at the age of 9 as a professional nohkan performer and from this early age carried on performing major classical Noh repertoires such as Okina and Dojoji. Apart from being an acclaimed performer of classical Noh repertoires Yukihiro is keen on the diversity of the flute family. He performs and composes with the shinobue, self-invented dengaku, the recorder and the horn to expand the possibilities of Japanese and Western flutes.
Yukihiro’s diverse interest and love of music has led him to perform western classical, particularly baroque, jazz and world music. Yukihiro has a deserved reputation for improvisation. He is associated with many different forms of the performing arts and has collaborated with top performers in several diverse fields. Performers with whom he has collaborated include Kaori Muraji (guitar), Cecil Taylor (jazz pianist), Evan Parker (saxophone), Min Tanaka (buto dance), Mansai Nomura (kyogen)and Kaiji Moriyama (contemporary dance).
In 2011 Yukihiro performed Ikuma Dan’s Symphony No. 6 “Hiroshima” for soprano, nohkan, shinobue and orchestra (1985) with the Yomiuri Symphony Orchestra conducted by Tatsuya Shimono, which went on to receive the 24th Music Pen Club Award (Classical Music Section).
In 2012 Yukihiro started his concert series “Let’s Go to Noh Theatre”, aiming to encourage Japanese audiences to enjoy the experience of Noh theatre. Yukihiro recently appeared in music clubs in London at Café OTO, IKLECTIK and The Victoria in Hackney (NonClassical) and took London audiences by surprise with his improvisation skill and musical geniosity. In May 2016, with Mu:Arts, Isso programmed and delivered the first edition of Noh Reimagined festival at Kings Place, exploring innovative inter-cultural collaborations with British artists in May 2016 with outstanding success.
Yukihiro has twice received the Creative Traditions Award from the Japan Arts Foundation. He was a lecturer at the National Noh theatre and has been designated an” Important Intangible Cultural Asset” by the Japanese government.
Takinojo Mochizuki
One of the most acclaimed and versatile musicians, Takinojo Mochizuki is the master of Japanese traditional percussion instruments used in Kabuki theatre. Having studied Japanese classical music at Tokyo University of Arts and after being apprenticed to various masters, he now performs contemporary music in collaboration with instrumentalists across cultures and genres, and has performed extensively outside Japan. He is always keen to explore the potential of Japanese percussion instruments to create new music.
Yutaka Oyama
Yutaka Oyama is a third generation tsugaru shamisen player of the Oyama School, and started studying the shamisen at a very early age from his grandfather, the head master of Oyama school.
He visited many countries abroad as part of the cultural exchange programs of the Japan Foundation, contributing to the promotion of Japanese culture. While firmly establishing himself as a successor of classical tsugaru shamisen, Yutaka also has been very active in exploring the new aspects, appeals, and potentials of the instrument. In addition to recording of popular music, TV commercials, video game software, and making frequent appearances in music programs on TV, he has been involved in various activities such as providing music directions for musicals and stage plays. He put together the band Soothe in 2003, creating his own sound and style beyond tradition and collaborated with performers with various kinds of instruments.
Masaki Yoshimi Masaki started playing the tabla in 1984. After 2 years of various musical training in New York, he moved to Mumbai to learn tabla from Master Ustad Allah Rakha Khan and his son, Ustad Zakir Hussain. To pursue the potential of tabla further, he works on not only Indian classical music, but also music of plays, musicals, fashion shows, TV and radio CMs, and engaged with many studio recordings for movies and CDs, cooperating with musicians, dancers and artists of all genres. Good at improvisation, he is capable to fit his tabla in all kinds of music session and create melodious performances in spite of using a percussion.
