Sheep Got Waxed是新兴的“异类”乐队里备受瞩目的一支。他们的音乐虽然复杂，却也并非晦涩难懂。乐队的成员们在演奏时都会手脚并用，用吉他、萨克斯和架子鼓，配合以多种多样的效果器和电子打击乐，展现了爵士乐、电子乐与学院派音乐的另一面。

乐队成员有着电子乐甚至重金属音乐的背景（在最初的几场演出时有些成员还留着长发），而他们现在的风格则介于自由爵士和实验电子之间，尽管依然非常难以定义。正如一位观众在看完他们的演出之后评价的那样，他们的音乐听起来像techno、footwork，与Death Grips式的trap和George Michael对早期The Beatles作品翻唱的混合体。所以说，无论你喜欢什么样的风格，Sheep Got Waxed的音乐应该都能让你过耳难忘。

迄今为止，Sheep Got Waxed已发行了两张专辑——2014年的同名专辑和2016年《PUSHY》，并在立陶宛、拉脱维亚、爱沙尼亚、俄罗斯、法国、西班牙和英国等地进行过巡演。他们曾被授予Vilnius Jazz Young Power Grand Prix，并两度获立陶宛音乐协会年度奖M.A.M.A.提名。他们也涉足戏剧和电影领域，为其制作音乐。

Sheep Got Waxed is the new weird. Their music is complex and approachable at the same time. All band members use both their hands and their feet to play music. Guitar, saxophone and drum-set are accompanied by various effect decks and digital percussion. This trio brings a new perspective into jazz, electronic and academic music. 

Having a background in electronic music and even heavy metal (during the very first gigs some members still had long hair), now the band is playing something in between free jazz and experimental electronics, although that is very undescriptive. As one listener reflected after the gig, it sounded more like a mix of techno, footwork, Death Grips kind of trap and George Michael played by early Beatles. So it may leave an impression for listener of any genre.

They have released two albums: “Sheep Got Waxed” (2014) and “PUSHY” (Nov 2016), and have been touring in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Russia, France, Spain and UK. They have been awarded Vilnius Jazz Young Power Grand Prix and nominated as alternative of the year at M.A.M.A. awards twice. They also have been making music for theatre and films.

来自克罗地亚的PEEK 3乐队由吉他手、作曲家Pavle Jovanović在2016年初创立，他们创作根植于爵士的即兴音乐——从硬波普到前卫音乐，再将朋克和放克等元素加以融合。Pavle与两位志同道合的优秀克罗地亚音乐家组建了这支乐队：贝斯手Ivar Roban Križić和著名鼓手Krunoslav Levačić。

在南欧地区进行了多场演出并获得乐迷的广泛好评之后，PEEK 3在2016年中旬邀请高音萨克斯手Saša Nestorović参与录制了他们的首张录音室专辑《Fragments》。该专辑在Dallas Records厂牌下发行不久，就被评论界迅速纳入了克罗地亚顶尖爵士唱片之列。今夏，他们刚完成了在克罗地亚、斯洛文尼亚、奥地利和意大利等的各大音乐节的演出，而他们的第二张录音室专辑也将在初秋面世。

Pavle Jovanović也在克罗地亚爵士五重奏Cromatik 5中担任吉他手。该乐队曾参演第四届OCT-LOFT国际爵士音乐节，以融合即兴、先锋、Groove和摇滚的独特音乐征服了我们的观众。此次，Pavle带领PEEK 3重回OCT-LOFT爵士节，同样值得期待！

Established by guitarist and composer Pavle Jovanović in early 2016, PEEK 3 is a Croatian band doing improvised music rooted in jazz, ranging from hard bop to avant-garde, also using various elements of punk and funk music. Pavle founded the band with two great Crotian musicians likeminded, bassist Ivar Roban Križić and famous drummer Krunoslav Levačić.

After numerous gigs in South Europe with great audience acceptance, PEEK 3 went for their first studio recording in mid 2016, featuring tenor saxophonist Saša Nestorović. As a result, their first LP “Fragments” came out and was released by Dallas Records. Critics have immediately put the record among top jazz records in Croatia. They have played in festivals this summer through out Croatia, Slovenia, Austria and Italy, and their second studio album will be out in early autumn.

Besides, Pavle Jovanović is also the guitarist of the Croatian jazz quintet Cromatik 5, who played at the 4th OCT-LOFT Jazz Festival and gave the audiences an unforgettable night with their own sound with roots in improvised music, avant-garde, groove music and rock. This time, Pavle Jovanović returns to the OCT-LOFT Jazz Festival with PEEK 3, which is also worth the wait.

尺八与滑板，听起来八竿子打不着的两个东西，事实上却有不少共同点。而它们，也面临着同样的问题。

《传统即未来：尺八与滑板对谈录》无疑是导演野中克哉对尺八和滑板的共同热爱的产物。在这部纪录片中，他采访了包括Silas Baxter-Neal、Ryan Sheckler、Pontus Alv和宫城豪在内的许多世界级滑板名手，以及日本和海外的知名尺八演奏家，如奥田敦也、Kiku Day和Alcvin Ramos等。通过这些对谈，影片向我们展露了这两种文化所共同面临的、时代的“万变”与事物本质的“不变”之间的冲突，也让我们重新审视这个现代化、商业化的世界：我们的未来在何方？而我们的传统又该去向何处？

导演简介

野中克哉现居于日本新泻。拥有多重身份的他，喜欢称自己为“Hyakusho（百姓）”——“乡下人/农民”的日文，其字面意思是“拥有上百种职业的人”：他是一位专业的尺八演奏家，师从享誉世界的尺八大师奥田敦也；他也是The Seppuku Pistols的成员——一支身着江户时代服装、用日本传统乐器演奏的反现代主义朋克乐团；他同时还是稻农、译者、漫画家、插画师和电影导演；无需多言，他当然也是一名狂热的滑板爱好者。

Shakuhachi and skateboarding. They seem to have nothing to do with each other, but they actually have many things in common and also share the same problems.

“The Future is Primitive” is undeniably a labour of love for shakuhachi and skateboarding on Katsuya Nonaka’s behalf. Through the interviews with well-respected skaters from all around world, including Silas Baxter-Neal, Ryan Sheckler, Pontus Alv and Gou Miyagi, as well as Japanese and non-Japanese shakuhachi players, such as Atsuya Okuda, Kiku Day and Alcvin Ramos, this documentary discloses the hidden connections between these two cultures, and explores “the change of times” and the “core of things”.

As the movie goes, viewers will soon learn that the problems are not only for shakuhachi or skateboarding, but to all of us living in this modern commercialized world. They will ask themselves this question, “What should we do for the future? And where are the roots heading up to?”

Director

Presently based in Niigata, Japan, Katsuya Nonaka is a professional shakuhachi player, rice farmer, translator, cartoonist, illustrator and film director. Being a man of many professions, he describes himself as a Hyakusho. Literally translating as a man who has more than one hundred jobs, Hyakusho is the Japanese word for peasant. Nonaka studied shakuhachi with the world renowned master Atsuya Okuda. He is also a member of The Seppuku Pistols, who play Edo era punk on Japanese traditional instruments. It goes without saying that Nonaka is a skateboarding enthusiast.
