The music sharing session “Unidentified Flying Records Hunters” is hosted by A Fei, Ding Lu and Zhang Xiaozhou, in which they will bring several jazz records in forms of mainly vinyls, as well as reel-to-reel tapes and cassettes that are regarded by themselves as the “flying” records.
In some way or other, you must have experienced the spontaneous overflow of feelings brought by records that can get you “high”. Either rare, good or important, records the three speakers will bring definitely have made themselves “high” at some point. In the hope of you may also find them interesting, stories behind the music will be revealed while playing and listening to these records.
A Fei will share three rare two-track reel-to-reel tapes of Japanese avant-garde jazz from the 1970s, including the ones of Yosuke Yamashita and Hino Terumasa, and also some unreleased cassettes of European avant-garde jazz, while the other two guests choose to remain mysterious. In any case, this session will be a “competitive” game among the three music freaks, specially presented for OCT-LOFT Jazz Festival. Connoisseurs will get high of course, and there are good reasons for us to believe that audiences with less listening experience will also gain something from it.
